7TH STREET KIDS
2024 Musical Theater Workshops
TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
Thank you for choosing to participate in the 7th Street Kids Summer 2024 Musical Theater workshops. This “Terms of Participation” should be read and reviewed in its entirety. Please make sure you and your child agree to all of the following conditions in order to participate in a 7th Street Kids workshop.
PARENTAL CONSENT
Your rights, as a parent or guardian, and your child’s safety while participating in 7th Street Kids workshops, are important to us. Therefore, all registration forms for 7th Street Kids workshops must be completed and submitted by a parent or legal guardian. There are no exceptions to this requirement.
You will also be required to give your consent for your child to participate in a 7th Street Kids 2024 workshop. If you do not provide your consent on the registration form, your child will not be allowed to participate in the 7th Street Kids workshop.
By providing your consent, you give permission for 7th Street Kids to collect needed personal information about you and your child (please read Privacy Policy posted on our website), and you give permission for your child to participate in the 7th Street Kids 2024 musical theater workshops to be held at the 7th Street Theatre in Hoquiam. We will also use online services including a Private Facebook Group to communicate updates throughout the summer, email and phone communications, and possibly Zoom for meetings with Kids and parents, and other activities.
PARTICIPANT CONDUCT
Be Respectful. Show respect at all times to the Directors and other Kids in the workshop.
Be Courteous. Use good manners and polite words. Impolite voices, yelling and rude or bad words are not appropriate in 7th Street Kids. If you have a problem that you cannot solve peacefully, talk to a Director for help finding a solution. The adults are there to help.
Be Responsible. Arrive at the theater for your workshop on time, bring your materials and be prepared.
Listen and Follow Instructions. During workshop sessions and rehearsals you will get instructions from the Directors. It’s important to listen and follow their instructions. Listen and support your fellow actors when it is their turn to talk or perform.
Follow the Guidelines. Now that you know the rules, it’s your responsibility to remember and follow them. You will receive a reminder if you are getting close to breaking a rule and then it is expected that you will change your behavior. Your parents will be called in to help resolve any further inappropriate behavior.
Photos and Video Recordings Are Not Allowed. Never take a picture, video or audio recording during your 7th St Kids workshop or performance. Taking pictures or recording any part of a workshop is strictly prohibited.
Social Media. Ask your parents if you can follow 7th Street Kids on Facebook and Instagram. We will post pictures and recordings there from time to time during the workshops. You can share our posts; just don’t post anything that is not an official 7th Street Kids post from your workshop.
Be Cooperative. It takes cooperation from everyone to have a GREAT TIME.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Cast members depend on their scene partners, so regular workshop rehearsal attendance is necessary. Participation in a 7th Street Kids workshop is a commitment. We expect cast members to attend workshop rehearsals and follow the attendance policy.
If you already have family commitments scheduled that will conflict with the rehearsal schedule, we understand and will look forward to seeing you next year!
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
- Barring illness, ensemble cast members are only allowed 2 excused absences, with NO absences (barring illness) allowed the final week.
- Performers in lead roles, as identified by the directors, are only allowed 1 excused absence, with NO absences allowed the last 2 weeks, barring illness.
- Kids are expected to arrive and be ready to participate by the posted start times. Three (3) tardy arrivals and/or early departures will equal one (1) absence, as described above.
- If your child is sick, will be late or leave early, or must be absent, you must alert the 7th Street Kids workshop contact immediately.
- If your school is still in session when rehearsals start, it is ok. Join rehearsals as soon as you can. The days you miss due to school attendance will not be counted as an absence.
- Failure to comply with this policy may result in dismissal from the workshop and performances.
Please contact us at auditions@7thstreetkids.org if you have any questions, or would like to discuss if your child’s schedule will fit with our attendance policy before registering for an audition appointment.
3 STRIKE POLICY & REMOVAL FROM WORKSHOP
7th Street Kids uses a Three Strike Policy for participants with discipline problems, which can lead to removal from the workshop. The first strike will result in a warning. The second strike will result in parent notification. The third strike will result in being dismissed from the workshop, and tuition will not be refunded.
7th Street Kids also reserves the right to remove any participant from the workshop without notice for violating these “Terms of Participation.”
HEALTH SAFETY & COVID-19 POLICY
You are responsible for following the 7th Street Kids Health Safety & COVID-19 Policy for 2024. Please review the protocols and policies posted on the 7th Street Kids website. If you fail to follow the Health Safety policy, your child will be subject to discipline and possible removal from the program. Click here to see the Health Safety Policy.
The 7th Street Kids organization is working hard to minimize the risk of exposure to contagious illnesses, including COVID-19, during rehearsals and performances. However, it is important to note that we cannot guarantee that an exposure won’t occur during our workshop activities.
If you are uncomfortable with any of the Health Safety & COVID-19 policies, or believe your child may not be able to follow the health and safety guidelines, please do not have your child audition this year. Thank you for understanding.
PAYMENTS AND REFUND POLICY
Payment Due Date. The tuition for each workshop is due on or before the 1st day of the workshop. If payment is not received by the due date, your registration will be automatically canceled and your child will not be allowed to participate in the workshop. Payment may be made using the “Pay Tuition” link on the 7th Street Kids website, at the mandatory parent meeting in mid-June, at the theater on the 1st day of rehearsals, or by sending a check or money order to: 7th Street Kids, PO Box 105, Hoquiam, WA 98550.
Cancellations and Refunds. Workshops are limited in size, so if you need to cancel your registration, please let us know as soon as possible so your Kid’s spot can be filled. All cancellation requests should be emailed to: Contact@7thStreetKids.org. Cancellation requests received prior to the 1st day of the workshop will receive a full refund. There will be no refunds for cancellation requests received after the first day of the workshop.
Scholarships are available. Scholarship Application forms are available on our website after the cast lists have been posted, and applications must be received on or before the 1st day of rehearsals. We will invoice you the amount of tuition not covered by the scholarship, which will be due upon receipt of invoice or no later than the first day of rehearsals, whichever is later.
